Travel Portland Golf Ball Drop — Win $500
This year, we’re introducing a fun new way to support the Travel Portland Education & Training Foundation — along with a chance to win $500.
The Golf Ball Drop at the annual Travel Portland Invitational Golf Tournament lets everyone get involved and get a chance to win.
Here’s how it works: Partners will pre-purchase numbered golf balls, and, on the day of the tournament (Sept. 13, 2010), the balls will be dropped above a selected hole at Langdon Farms Golf Club; the ball that goes into the hole wins the grand prize of $500. If no ball goes in the hole, the one that lands the closest to the hole is the winner. You do not have to play or be present at the Golf Tournament to win.
Get in on the excitement — buy your golf balls today, more next month and again in the summer! The price is $5 per ball or five balls for $20. After you make your purchase online, you’ll receive an e-mail with your ball number(s) — one of which might just win you $500. And remember, all proceeds support the Travel Portland Education & Training Foundation. Since 1992, the foundation has supported hospitality school-to-career programs, scholarships to local community colleges and programs that provide educational opportunities for Travel Portland partners.
Note: Travel Portland is working with Sustainable Travel International to offset CO2 emissions from all golf tournament activities.

Join the Travel Portland tourism team for an interactive discussion about tour operators. The travel trade world can be a confusing one, but we hope this session will help you sort it all out.
Enjoy hors d’oeuvre while networking with fellow Travel Portland partners. You’ll learn the difference between receptive operators, tour operators and even (gasp) travel agents — and find out how to work with each of them.
Our guest speaker will be Harry Dalgaard III, director of product development for Pacific Northwest Vacations. Pacific Northwest Vacations is a receptive tour operator that offers travelers a premium, custom vacation experience representative of the diversity of the northwest.
A no-host cash bar will be available.
