BridgePort Brewing Company

Oregon's oldest craft brewery, with gastropub locations in the Pearl District and in southeast.

Hopworks Urban Brewery

This eastside eco-brewpub serves only organic beers. Its building was sustainably restored, and there's even a bike repair station for those who visit on two wheels.

Good beer and four-legged friends — all four Lucky Lab pubs welcome dogs in their outdoor seating areas.

McMenamins

More than 50 of these funky, family-friendly neighborhood bars, movie theaters and historic inns dot Oregon and Washington. In downtown Portland, the Crystal Ballroom offers three floors of entertainment, from the street-level Ringlers Pub, to a brewery and bar on the second floor, and, finally, three flights up, a historic ballroom that hosts national rock, pop and folk acts. Another favorite location is Kennedy School, a former grade school in the Alberta Arts District that now serves as a hotel, complete with brewery, bars, a movie theater and even a soaking pool.

Craft-brewing pioneers Kurt and Rob Widmer started a tiny operation in 1984 that grew into Oregon's largest brewery, winning many awards for its American take on hefeweizen.
